Overlook Farm Bed and Breakfast

27 Sep

I stayed here overnight with my husband and a coworker and spouse. It was a special from Sunday through Thursday for only $99.00 a night. It was only a continental breakfast in the morning but the on sight restaurant served superb food at an affordable price.

Upscale accommodations and wonderful food what more can you ask for.

Here are a few pics

Random Truths

23 Sep
So i realized that what i am going through everyday is what everyone goes through. I feel in my twenties i searched for myself and enjoyed what experiences i thought i wanted to enjoy. i made goals to become the woman that i wanted to become. once i did those goals  by my thirties i got married and had a child. But what i didnt realize that my goals and the things i wanted would change. it seems so obvious too me now but then when it was happening i was confused and depressed. why is what i planned not enough etc. etc. etc.
but talking and praying and meditating and reading i have found that this in normal and even if it was abnormal to someone else it was normal to me and my life.

It is amazing that you can find God/Goddess in every and anything even in the smallest detail. i at this exact second typing these words are at peace. Now the lesson is how to maintain it.

Strawberry Cupcakes from Mop Top Maven

19 Sep

Recipe Ingredients:

2/3 cup whole fresh or frozen strawberries, thawed

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon coarse salt

1/4 cup whole milk, room temperature

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature

1 cup sugar

1 large egg, room temperature

2 large egg whites, room temperature

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners; set aside.

Place strawberries in a small food processor; process until pureed. You should have about 1/3 cup of puree, add a few more strawberries if necessary or save any extra puree for frosting; set aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside. In a small bowl, mix together milk, vanilla, and strawberry puree; set aside.

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter on medium-high speed, until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar and continue to beat until well combined and fluffy. Reduce the mixer speed to medium and slowly add egg and egg whites until just blended.

With the mixer on low, slowly add half the flour mixture; mix until just blended. Add the milk mixture; mix until just blended. Slowly add remaining flour mixture, scraping down sides of the bowl with a spatula, as necessary, until just blended.

Divide batter evenly among prepared muffin cups. Transfer muffin tin to oven and bake until tops are just dry to the touch, 22 to 25 minutes. Transfer muffin tin to a wire rack and let cupcakes cool completely in tin before icing.

Icing Ingredients:

Makes enough for 1 dozen cupcakes.

1/2 cup whole frozen strawberries, thawed

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, firm and slightly cold

Pinch of coarse salt

3 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions:

Place strawberries in the bowl of a small food processor; process until pureed. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together butter and salt on medium speed until light and fluffy. Reduce mixer speed and slowly add confectioners’ sugar; beat until well combined. Add vanilla and 3 tablespoons strawberry puree (save any remaining strawberry puree for another use); mix until just blended. Do not overmix or frosting will incorporate too much air. Frosting consistency should be dense and creamy, like ice cream

Dear Myself

9 Sep

I have been writing on this blog for a short time not knowing which direction to take and what to focus on. I have been using this as sort of a diary of things i found or information i want to keep with a place to always refer back to.

But now i have a direction and a new course i would like to take, i want someone to go along and share my experiences with. Recently i believed i wanted to be enlightened and brought into conciousness and though i know some wont understand i am going to take the path of knowledge of thyself “know thyself!”

I was laying in bed and one thought came into my concious, Religion is a man made separation of one spirit to another, and isnt that a sin. Sin to seperate onself from another becuase of a belief.

I have always believed in Christianity and that can not be uprooted but I have to open my eyes to who i really am. Because i have a vagina i am less than or not equal to a man. We call father God but where is Mother God. I am made in an image of God and he created me too, God is in me I am a Goddess. I must act accordingly.

When I pushed my son from my vagina it was the most eye opening experience of my life. I am powerful I am a healer a creator I am a Goddess.

For so long I took what people said about things without researching. But that is different it is time, My time to come into My truth!

When it came to find which direction do I go to find the information so many books and ideas come my way. Father/Mother God Creator will lead me.

First step: I must fast and cleanse my system.  This is sooo hard for me to do but i must discipline my flesh. I am going to PHilly on the 15th to the 18th and then i will start my fast HARD.

Im looking for some true Woman to go with me. I am also following Sacred Woman by  Queen Afua it is a very good book if someone would like to travel with me to enlightenment.
